Marnie, Marcus, Miles, Virginia and Ansel Adams, Carmel, California, 1984. He was always cheerful, and even waved at passers-by from his bed during his final days in hospital. Ansel and Virginia were extremely kind and generous to all, and anyone could visit their house with their photographs, if they called first, between five and six in the afternoon.
